A family farm
in Lawrence, Kansas.
We're a small operation by choice. Every plant on our farm, every drop of extract from our lab, comes from people who care deeply about doing this right.
The plant deserves
better.
Most of the CBG you'll find online doesn't come from the company selling it. It's bought in bulk from anonymous suppliers, repackaged, and shipped out under a label.
We started Kaw Valley because that didn't sit right with us. If we were going to put something into people's bodies — or into our pets' bodies — we wanted to know exactly where it came from, exactly how it was made, and exactly what was in it.
So we built the whole operation ourselves. We grow the plants. We extract the cannabinoids. We test every batch. And we sell it directly, from our farm to your door, with nothing hidden in between.
The whole reason we're here is because we couldn't find a CBG product we trusted. So we made one.
Why CBG, specifically
CBG — cannabigerol — is sometimes called "the mother cannabinoid" because it's the chemical precursor that all other cannabinoids develop from. As a hemp plant matures, CBG converts into THC, CBD, and other compounds, which is why most plants only contain trace amounts of CBG by the time they're harvested.
Capturing real, meaningful CBG content takes intentional effort: an early, carefully timed harvest, and an extraction process designed for it. Most farms don't bother. We've spent years dialing it in.
The result is hemp that produces up to 15% pure CBG at harvest, and a product line built entirely around it.
Small batch.
By design.
We could grow more. We could outsource our extraction. We could expand into every cannabinoid product imaginable.
We don't, because we're not trying to be the biggest. We're trying to make CBG that we'd actually want to use ourselves — and the only way to do that is to keep our hands on every step.
What that looks like in practice
- Every plant is started in our own greenhouse, with careful attention from the first day to the last.
- Every harvest is timed by hand, based on what the plants are actually doing, not a calendar.
- Every extraction happens in our own lab, using cold ethanol — clean, precise, and gentle on the compound.
- Every batch is sent to a third-party lab for full cannabinoid and contaminant testing. The Certificate of Analysis is available for any product we sell.
Beneficial insects, not pesticides
That praying mantis you see in our gallery isn't a coincidence. We rely on beneficial insects — mantises, ladybugs, lacewings — to manage pests naturally. It's slower, requires more attention, and doesn't always work perfectly. But it means our plants grow without harsh chemical intervention, and the wildlife around our farm thrives because of it.
"We work with the land, not against it."
— Kaw Valley CannabisThe Kaw Valley.
Our farm sits in the Kaw Valley of northeastern Kansas, just outside Lawrence. The Kaw — known officially as the Kansas River — has shaped this region's agriculture for generations, depositing rich, fertile soil along its banks every spring.
It's good ground for hemp. Hot summers, full sun, a long growing season, and soil that doesn't need much help. Kansas has been a serious agricultural state for over 150 years, and we think hemp deserves the same level of craft and care that everything else grown here gets.
We named the farm after the river because it felt right. This place is part of the product.
